Gua Sha

Utilized in Chinese medicine for many thousands of years, Gua Sha (or scraping) is sometimes used in conjunction with massage, especially if the patient has been experiencing pain.

A smooth-edged instrument is rubbed over the area and usually produces red marks which fade in a few days. Whilst the ensuing redness may look scary, the relief is immediate when done by the hands of an experienced professional. Facial cupping has become popular but is not done in this clinic due to the risk of breaking the very fine capillaries that are on the fragile skin of the face.
